Students To Reap Maximum Benefits From The New National Education Policy
Emphasis will be laid on e-learning, online certifications, sports and overall development of the students.
The Modi Government has taken some bold steps in changing the education system in India. According to reports, the new education system will prove very beneficial for students. The Union Cabinet has approved the new National Education Policy (NEP) and renamed the HRD Ministry as Education Ministry. From now on, there would be a single regulator for all higher educational institutions. The new policy will replace the traditional 10 + 2 system to 5+3+3+4 where five years will be assigned to foundational education where the medium of instruction will be in the mother tongue, three years preparatory, three years of middle and four years of secondary schooling.
Emphasis will be laid on e-learning, online certifications and sports. Board exams will have low stakes and will instead test actual knowledge. Moreover, the schools will have 10 bag-less days in an academic year. The Post-graduation programmes will be of one-two years and there will be complete flexibility in choosing the subjects.
