Speaking about the pandemic, the Ramaiya Vastavaiya actor said, “Giving those ration and food packets to a few of them, that’s what my job was and I got 400-500 ration kits and gave it to a close-by slum area and they were very happy and I said I had done my job as a citizen of the country and my job is over now.” However, Sood then mentioned that he later realised that the problems in people were just mounting and there was no end. He also talked about the time when people came to his building to talk to him.
Sonu continued, “When I was sending the migrants back, I used to ask them when they would come back. And then they would say that they would come back if they get a job here. The star remarked that he knew there was a huge job crisis coming in and that he had to think of something for the people. “I started connecting with all the corporates. In one a half-day, almost close to 2 million people messaged me on the toll-free number that I had started. In three and a half, four months, I was able to provide jobs to close to 1,70,000 people,” he added.
Sonu Sood also took a trip down memory lane and talked about how his parents reacted to him after he mentioned that he wanted to fly down to Mumbai to try his luck as an actor. “If this is what you want to do, just give your 100% and make it happen. That made me feel so nice, and it also gave me that zeal and boost to come to the city that kept me alive.” Sood also recalled that he took one year of permission from his parents and that he took just one and a half years to learn the roads of this city.
