Delhi Capitals (DC) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by six wickets in Abu Dhabi in the virtual quarter-final of IPL 2020 at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium on November 2, 2020, Monday. As Delhi Capitals (DC) have secured the spot for qualifiers by ending their losing streak, the winning team’s captain Shreyas Iyer spoke about the team’s journey in an interview with ANI News. The skipper expressed his happiness by calling the victory ‘essential’ as it had got smiles on their faces. He added that after four consecutive losses, the way they played on Monday, it was a comprehensive win.  Shreyas appreciated the players saying they covered all the departments ‘really well’ and he was chuffed by their performance. Additionally, he applauded the way the team members came up and delivered at the right time. Speaking about securing the second place in IPL points table, he said it felt good after the season, where they had ups and downs. Concluding the answer, Iyer called IPL a roller coaster journey.

The skipper also about his plans against RCB spinners like Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar, and Shahbaz Ahmed, who bowl quite well. He explained that irrespective of the team one plays, they always face challenges, considering it to be one of the. He lauded how RCB had been bowling amazing throughout the IPL season.

Shreyas described that they had their plan sorted out. Delhi Capitals know how they were going to pace their innings and build a partnership, which was important. He also spoke about the significance of communication and how they ‘nailed it’ on Monday. Adding to it, he explained that they discussed small points in the team meeting and executed them well.
