Simmba, Singham Or Chulbul Pandey – Your Favourite Cop From Bollywood’s Khaki Brigade Is?
As Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan-starrer film Simmba premieres on ZEE5, we take a look at popular cop capers in Bollywood. Which one is your favourite?
Ranveer Singh collaborated with Rohit Shetty for the first time in an out-and-out masala entertainer Simmba. Coming from the universe of Shetty’s previous hit franchise Singham, Simmba starred Ranveer as the butt-kicking, self-righteous police officer with a twist. Sangram Bhalerao aka Simmba joins the police officer for his own good but ends up packing a powerful punch at the baddie Dhruv Ranade (Sonu Sood).
After enjoying a triumphant and roaring success at the ticket windows, Simmba makes its world digital premiere on ZEE5 on March 21, 2019. As Ranveer joins Bollywood’s khaki brigade, we take a look at other cop characters that wowed us before Simmba. After all, nothing spells goosebumps more than a cop hero taking on the villains and the corrupt with all his might in a typical filmy way!
Starting with Simmba, Sangram Bhalerao is a corrupt police officer who is forced to take the righteous path after one of his near ones bears the brunt of corruption. Watch out for Ranveer’s comical punchlines that leave indelible marks! The flick also stars newbie Sara Ali Khan.
Next up is Ajay Devgn in and as Singham. “Jisme hai dum … to fakht Bajirao Singham.” Singham is an honest officer who can alone bash up a dozen goons and can go to the earth’s end to protect his family and people he cares for.
Next is Salman Khan from Dabangg. Chulbul Pandey (Salman) is a corrupt but fearless officer, he is the Robinhood of his town. Besides catchy one-liners, Salman’s quirky steps manage to keep you hooked and entertained! Salman’s act of IPS officer Rajveer Singh Shekhawat in Wanted is an impressive one in the list too!
The list of Bollywood cop capers can never be complete without Khakee. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, and Tusshar Kapoor as dedicated heroes out to protect the country, the film combines comedy and action pretty well. Who is your favourite from the film in particular?
Another actor who looked dashing and brought meaning to the Khaki uniform is Aamir Khan. “Main apne mulk ko apna ghar samajhta hoon.” In Sarfarosh, Aamir played ACP Ajay Singh Rathod who is hell-bent on putting an end to cross-border terrorism. The film was released the time of the Kargil conflict when tensions between India and Pakistan were high.
So which of these cop characters are your favourite? Got another one we forgot to add? Let us know in the comments box below.
