Shreyas Iyer Ruled Out Of The Remaining ODIs Against England
The BCCI announced that batsman Shreyas Iyer won’t be playing the remaining games of the Ind vs Eng ODI series. Iyer’s shoulder injury is the reason for his exit from the team.
The BCCI informed today that cricketer Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out for the remaining two ODIs against England. Shreyas’ shoulder injury during the first match is the reason behind the change. The batsman got severely injured while fielding in the first game in Pune. Grimacing in pain, he was carried off the ground. Shreyas didn’t appear in the match ahead. BCCI later updated that the player has dislocated his left shoulder.
Now, in the press conference, the BCCI media manager stated, “Iyer has been ruled out of the remaining two ODIs, he will be exiting the bubble.” However, India has a strong side and hence the news won’t affect much on this series. But the major cause of worry is the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. The fans seemed worried as they wrote heartwarming messages for the cricketer.
Iyer thanked the fans and is confident about making a strong comeback after the injury. He took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “I’ve been reading your messages and have been overwhelmed by all the outpouring of love and support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone. You know what they say, the greater the setback, the stronger the comeback. I shall be back soon.”
All the Delhi Capitals fans and the co-owner of the team Parth Jindal wished their skipper a speedy recovery. Earlier, the reports stated that Iyer may have to undergo surgery on his left shoulder which means there’s a possibility that the batsman won’t be playing IPL. Well, none of these reports have been confirmed yet.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen who will be replacing Iyer in tomorrow’s game against England.
