Shivraj Singh Chouhan Compares Rahul Gandhi To Muhammad Ali Jinnah
Addressing a rally in Assam’s Niharkatia district, the Madhya Pradesh chief minister called out the Congress’s fresh alliance with the regional AIUDF party and compared Rahul Gandhi’s political methods to Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s divisive approach
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made scathing attacks on the Congress party and its leader Rahul Gandhi during an election rally in Assam yesterday. Addressing the audience of Naharkatia, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) politician questioned the Congress on the path it has taken. He said that it is in no way following the Gandhian principles it was originally committed to and instead, Rahul Gandhi is walking the path of Pakistan’s architect Muhammad Ali Jinnah, one that will never be accepted by the people of Assam or by any Indian.
Referring to the Gandhis’ recent alliance with the Badruddin Ajmal led- All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), Chouhan accused Ajmal of filling the north-eastern state with infiltrations. Attacking the regional party, he cited that though the AIUDF chief has a perfume business, he is spreading poison across Assam. Calling the saffron party’s rivals the ‘king of snakes’, the MP CM said that no development will be possible if the Mahajot Alliance wins in the upcoming legislative elections. The unison comprising the Congress, Left Front, Bodoland People’s Front (BDF) and another seven regional parties will be contesting against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) that is currently in power.
Like West Bengal, Vidhan Sabha elections in Assam will also commence on 27 March and conclude on 2 May after which counting will be initiated. The polls will take place in three phases for the 126-seats state assembly.
