Shiv Sena Fumes Over Jaan Sanu’s Objectionable Marathi Comment
The broadcasting channel issued an apology to CM Uddhav Thackeray for hurting the sentiments of the Maharashtrian community
An argument inside a popular reality television show Boss has gained a political angle after contestant Jaan Sanu made some objectionable remarks about Marathi language. Singer Kumar Sanu’s son stirred a controversy in the house when he asked his friend Nikki Tamboli to not converse in the regional dialect with participant Rahul Vaidya as he gets irritated listening to the language.
While the Shiv Sena asked for immediate strict action on this matter and accused the channel for promoting such content to increase TRPs, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) threatened Jaan with physical harm.
The broadcasting channel has issued an apology to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray for hurting the sentiments of the people of Maharashtra, clarifying that they appreciate the patronage of the audience they receive from the state. The media group has also committed to removing the offensive part from all future broadcasts.
