There have been a lot of developments about the Ram temple in Ayodhya over the past few weeks. Sources state that the structure’s foundation-laying ceremony is likely to be held in the first week of August. The trust members have also confirmed that an invitation has been sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the final date for the beginning of temple construction will be finalised soon. However, this has led to a lot of criticism, as the country is currently facing bigger problems like the Coronavirus pandemic.

Nationalist Congress Party(NCP) chief Sharad Pawar in a meeting said that India is going through a traumatic situation and some people think that Coronavirus will be eradicated by building the Ram Mandir. Pawar’s comments have sparked off a new controversy. On Monday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Uma Bharti termed a remark made by the NCP chief as Bhagwan Ram drohi (anti-Lord Ram).
