Marvel Studios first Asian Superhero movie “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”, starring Simu Liu is enjoying success as the movie since its release has earned more than $140 million. With the chatter and the fame of the lead actor has grown multi-fold on social media.

So much so that since then, the social media has dug up pictures of Simu Liu form his modeling days. Even the Marvel superhero took to his Twitter shared a stock photo taken in 2014 of himself posing with two other models around a computer and wrote, “Me laughing at the people who thought we’d flop”. And as per Simu Liu’s claim he was paid only $120 for it.

Ahead of the release, this year, fans on a lighter note found the images and shared their reactions. Search terms like “Cheerful East Asian coworker,” “East Asian,” “business person,” “smiling,” “cheerful,” and “coworker” will bring you to his images on the image platform Getty.

A Twitter user wrote: “This stock photos of Simu Liu are so funny help #$&@*. Since this is suddenly blowing up if you’re into marvel/star-wars/dc or pjo make sure to follow let’s be mutuals‍”.

The photos that were taken back in 2014 have since landed on hundreds of ads, pamphlets, storefronts and textbook covers.

Apparently, rights to these photos were given away at so cheap by the actor to repay his credit card debt.

Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings is also the first MCU film featuring martial arts as a fighting technique. The Marvel superhero film, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings opened to thunderous fan love in theaters. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Cretton and David Callaham, Shang-Chi is the first-ever Marvel film starring an Asian lead played by Chinese-Canadian actor Simu Liu.
