Seven Killed In Horrific Oil Tanker Collision On Yamuna Expressway
The extended family of six people and their driver were returning from Vrindavan when their vehicle came in the way of an oil tanker that crashed on the divider, killing all the car passengers on the spot
In a horrific accident, seven passengers were killed after an oil tanker collided with their vehicle on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura on Tuesday night. According to sources, the heavy truck that was headed towards Agra crashed on a divider, at which time the car unfortunately came in between it and the divider.
The deceased have been identified as Manoj Garg (47), his wife Babita (40), sons Abhay (18) and Hemant (16), the couple’s nephew/ niece Kannu (14) and Himadri (10) and their 39-year-old driver Rakesh. Mathura Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Grover confirmed the news and said that the bodies were sent for post-mortem and the kin of the deceased had been informed.
The extended family had gone to for a holy visit to Vrindavan’s Banke Bihari temple. While Manoj was a resident of Jind, Kannu and Himadri lived in Samalkha with their parents.
The driver and his helper absconded after the accident but have been identified by the police. Further investigations are in progress in the case.
