Send Yogi Adityanath Back To Gorakhpur: Mayawati Attacks UP CM
Mayawati’s attack came in the wake of the Balrampur and Hathras gang-rape case where the victim, a 19-year-old Dalit girl, has succumbed to her injuries.
In her sharpest attack against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Thursday (October 1), BSP chief Mayawati said that he is not fit to be a Chief Minister and that either the Centre should replace him or impose President’s Rule in the state. Mayawati’s attack came in the wake of the Balrampur rape case where the victim, a Dalit girl, has succumbed to her injuries. The incident followed at the heels of the Hathras gang-rape case, where a 19-year-old Dalit girl was raped and brutalised, leading to her death on Tuesday (September 29), following which the police allegedly cremated her in the wee hours of Wednesday (September 30) without her parents’ consent and in their absence.
“I initially thought that after the Hathras rape case, the UP government would come to its senses and take action to stop the criminal elements in the state. However, when I woke up on Thursday and read about the Balrampur incident, I realised that the government is only making tall claims about the law and order situation in the state and is actually doing nothing. I was forced to come out and make this statement,” she said. The former Uttar Pradesh CM appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who she said should be more concerned about UP.
