Saroj Khan is a name that needs no introduction, she was active in Bollywood from the 1980s. Be it, Sridevi, Madhuri, Alia or Priyanka, all the actresses have danced to her tunes. What’s even important is that most of those who have worked with the legend, considered her as their “guru.” Her death due to cardiac arrest today has hit Bollywood hard.
Some of the most memorable dance performances in Bollywood were choreographed by Saroj Khan. The popular ones include Sridevi’s “Hawa Hawai” from Mr. India, Madhuri’s “Humko Aaj Kal Hai Intezaar” from Sailaab, Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon’s “Tip Tip Barsa Paani” from Mohra and many more. In fact, Saroj Khan had choreographed songs for more than 200 films in her long career.
She had started her Bollywood journey as a child actor in the film, Nazrana, when she was just 3 years old. She was also a background dancer for many years. Saroj Khan is not physically present among us, but her legacy will live on through her memorable dance steps.
