Sandalwood Drug Case: Actress Ragini Dwivedi Quizzed By CCB Officials
Two people have so far been arrested in the high-profile Karnataka case.
The Kannada film industry or Sandalwood as it’s popularly known was hit by a huge drug scandal recently, and actress Ragini Dwivedi was today questioned regarding it by officials from the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru. A team of CCB detectives, including women officials, reached her house at around 06:00 a.m. after procuring a search warrant from the court. The CCB team had earlier served a notice to the actress asking her to depose before them but she had sent a team of lawyers seeking time till Monday.
The Sandalwood drug racket has seen the arrest of two individuals till now. Among them is Ravi Shankar, a clerk in Jayanagar RTO office, who is apparently friends with Dwivedi and was seen attending several parties with her. Regarding the actress’ questioning, Bengaluru Police Commissioner, Kamal Pant has said, “She is being questioned. That’s the status now. We cannot reveal more. The case is under investigation and two people have been arrested in the case.”
