The number of rape cases have been only seeing the upward graph of not just increasing in numbers but also it’s brutality which makes you question humanity, fight for life and every woman question her safety. This isn’t just in Mumbai but the entire nation where safety is a big luxury and the owner needs to be physically and mentally strong to own it. A eyeball popping crime occured during the weekend, where a 32-year old woman was raped in a tempo and then killed leaving her in a blood bath. Police has reported the accused has been arrested and case has been fast tracked. Bollywood celebrities have also spoken strongly on this and expressed their views on the same strongly opposing it.
A journalist Faye D’Souza posted about this crime Kalki Koechlin said,”Is there a way to make the accused the headline of such crimes? How old are they? What do they do? Do they have a record of past crimes? These are people who live amongst us, we need to bring them out into plain view.” On the other hand, Mini Mathur wrote, “Name them. Make them accountable to other men. Like women are made to do at every step.”
Sophie Choudry commented, “Heartbroken, angry but until we have stricter laws and punishment against rape, nothing will change.” Malaika Arora dropped the broken heart emoji on the post while Kareena Kapoor Khan shared it on her Instagram story with the same emoji. Alia Bhatt too took to her Instagram story and wrote, “WTF is going on? This is infuriating.” Taapsee Pannu wrote, “News today.. every day.. goes like this. Coz she fought too much.
