Russian President Vladimir Putin Extends Condolences Over Loss Of Lives In Floods

Assam and Bihar flood situation continues to worsen. Eighty-nine casualties reported so far.

Recently, the Russian President Vladimir Putin wrote a letter to PM Narendra Modi stating that Russia will support India in facing the ongoing flood situation. Putin also extended condolences to the relatives of those who have lost their lives in floods. The United Nations had promised all the necessary support to the affected regions in Assam and Bihar.

The states of Assam and Bihar are facing a severe flood crisis which has affected lakhs of people. According to reports, 26 districts in Assam are going through an alarming situation. The water level of the Brahmaputra river has breached its danger mark which has led to mass damage to life and property in the adjoining regions. So far, 89 people have lost their lives and thousands have been left homeless. The situation in Bihar is also worrisome as 10 districts have been affected by the floods.
