Rishabh Pant Sets A New Record By Becoming The 5th Youngest Captain In IPL

Indian batsman and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has set a new record of becoming the 5th youngest captain in IPL. He will head the team of Delhi Capitals and will be taking the place of Shreyas Iyer. Iyer will not participate in this season of IPL as has been ruled out due to a left shoulder injury during Ind vs England ODI series.

Rishabh Pant has taken the position of Dinesh Kartik in the list, who use to be the 5th youngest captain till Pant’s appointment. For the previous season, Rishabh Pant was the vice-captain of the team and at the young age of 23, he has obtained the honour to head Delhi Capitals. Rishabh had garnered a lot of praises in the last season of IPL for his brilliant performance and the hard work seems to have taken the form of this captaincy.
When it comes to being the youngest captain in IPL, Virat Kohli takes the 1st position as he started at the age of 22 years and has been loyal to his team Royal Challengers Bangalore for the last 13 years. Steve Smith makes the second position as he became the captain of Pune Warriors at the age of 22 years. This year Smith will play from the team Delhi Capitals under the captaincy of Pant.
Suresh Raina stands at the 3rd position as he was of the age 23 years when he debuted as the captain of Chennai Super Kings. Last year he did not play in IPL due to personal reasons but this year he is back to support and play for his team. Former captain of Delhi Capitals, Shreyas Iyer was the 4th youngest player to take up the role of a captain. He was 23 years 141 days old when he started as the captain of his team.
