Rhea Slams Media For Unfair Trial In Her New Affidavit
The actress called out the media for targeting her and pronouncing her guilty even before the actual investigations concluded.
As actress Rhea Chakraborty gets pulled deeper into the controversy surrounding the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, she has now filed a fresh affidavit in the Supreme Court. The ex-girlfriend of Sushant has stated that she is being subjected to an unfair media trial.
Asserting that she has been targeted, she pointed out the complete silence on the recent suicides of actors Samir Sharma and Ashutosh Bhakre.
In her petition, the Jalebi actress has also said that the Bihar authorities are involved in this case under political pressure, due to the upcoming elections. While stating that she has no objection if the apex court transfers the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), she said that the jurisdiction will be with the courts at Mumbai and not Patna.
In today’s hearing, the Supreme Court will give clarity on the jurisdiction of the case.
Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) continues to grill Rhea and her family.
On Monday, the ED questioned her brother Showik for more than 10 hours.
Some new details from the ED’s investigations have emerged, which show that the actress’s income in 2017-2018 was 18 lakh Rupees. However, she had invested in shares worth Rs. 34 lakhs. Similarly, in 2018-2019, she had bought shares amounting to 42 lakh Rupees, with a total yearly income of only Rs. 18 lakhs. The authorities are also evaluating some of her fixed deposits, which are way more than her annual income.
