Ranveer Singh To Star In Rohit Shetty’s ‘Cirkus’

As per latest reports, Ranveer has signed his third film with director Rohit Shetty. The comedy titled Cirkus will also star Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde.

Ranveer Singh is considered to be one of the most talented actors in recent times. He has given various hits with directors like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar. As per latest reports, the star has recently signed a comedy film with Rohit Shetty and will be starting the shoot soon. This will his third outing  with the Golmaal director after Simmba (2018) and the yet-to-be released Sooryavanshi.

Ranveer has always been very choosy when it comes to signing films. He read several scripts during the lockdown and finally decided to do Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus, which is said to be adapted from William Shakespeare’s classic play The Comedy of Errors.

Cirkus will also star Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, Johny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Siddharth Jadhav, Vrajesh Hirjee, Vijay Patkar, Sulbha Arya, Mukesh Tiwari, Ashwini Kalsekar and Murli Sharma. It is being produced by big banners like T-series and Reliance Entertainment. The shoot of Cirkus will begin in November in Mumbai, Ooty and Goa and the comedy will open in cinemas in the winter of 2021.

Previously, Ranveer had worked with Rohit in Simmba alongside Sara Ali Khan. The film was a huge hit with the masses. Apart from this, the actor will also be seen in the filmmaker’s upcoming movie Sooryavanshi that features Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. It also has a special appearance by Ajay Devgn who has worked with Rohit in a number of projects earlier.

Ranveer’s upcoming releases

It might be recalled that Ranveer was last seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy (2019) which received several accolades. His fans are eagerly awaiting the release of ’83, which is based on India’s victory in 1983 World Cup under the captaincy of Kapil Dev. The powerhouse performer will be seen as the Indian skipper while his real-life wife Deepika Padukone will portray the sportsman’s wife, Romi Bhatia Dev, in the film. Ranveer’s other projects in the pipeline include Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Karan Johar’s Takht.
