Ranveer Singh Teams Up With Shankar For Hindi Remake Of Tamil Blockbuster ‘Anniyan’

Ranveer Singh is one of the busiest actors in the entertainment industry lately. He’s doing everything from working on films to shooting for ads. The Simmba actor is everywhere. Ranveer has proven time and again with his versatility that he can easily adapt to any role, and that’s probably why, the Tamil director chose him for the Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster film, ‘Anniyan’.

Tamil director Shankar Shanmugham, popularly known as S Shankar is famous for his hit films in the Tollywood Industry. Now he’s working on the remake of one of his gems titled Anniyan. Tamil actor Vikram’s Anniyan was a hit among the audience in 2005 and was also dubbed into Hindi as Aparichit to reach a wider audience. The film focused on Ambi, a guy with Multiple Personality Disorder.

Shankar recently shared a picture on his Instagram announcing the collaboration with Ranveer Singh. He expressed his immense happiness in, “bringing back the larger than life cinematic experience with Ranveer Singh in the official adaptation of cult blockbuster Anniyan”. On the work front, Ranveer Singh will be next seen in the Kapil Dev biopic, ’83’ with his wife and Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone. Unless the Covid-19 restrictions compel the makers to postpone the release, the film is scheduled to release in June 2021.
