Rajnath Singh will visit West Bengal on 10 February to take part in the BJP’s mega roadshow, the parivartan rath yatra
Union Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh will visit West Bengal tomorrow (10 February) to flag off a part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Parivartan Rath Yatra. Launched in the weekend to campaign for the upcoming legislative assembly elections in April, a line of high-profile party members are scheduled to visit the state this month. On 11 February, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will take part in the roadshow in Cooch Behar and will also address a public rally. BJP National President JP Nadda is in Bengal today where he flagged off the last two legs of the initiative, one from Tarapith and the other from Jhargram.
The campaign aims to cover all 294 constituencies across Bengal between February and March. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said while addressing a rally in the Haldia district that it is only the BJP that can bring real change in the state. Accusing the TMC of propagating violence, he urged people to vote for the saffron party in the upcoming polls.
Meanwhile, two MLAs, Sunil Singh from Noapara and Biswajit Das from Bongaon North in North 24 Parganas district who were inducted from the TMC to the BJP in early 2019 met with the Bengal CM, sparking rumours of a homecoming.
