Rajnath Singh May Meet Chinese Defence Minister Over LAC Row
Both are currently in Moscow for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meet.
Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh may engage in a meeting with Chinese Minister of National Defence Wei Fenghe over the recent aggression shown by Chinese troops at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh. The meeting could be made possible by their presence at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation regional grouping that’s happening in Moscow right now, according to sources. If it materializes, this will be the first time that ministerial-level talks will take place between the two countries on the LAC issue.
Late this August, the Indian Army said that Chinese troops along the LAC tried to change the status quo by showing aggression near the Pangong Tso lake. Replying to this, the Indian Army “took appropriate defensive measures” in order to “safeguard our interests and defend the territorial integrity.” The Indian Government later issued a ban on 118 new Chinese apps, including the extremely popular game PUBG Mobile, citing that these apps are stealing the data of their users.
