Rajasthan Crisis: Uma Bharti Backs Sachin Pilot, Blames Rahul Gandhi
On July 14, Sachin Pilot was sacked as deputy chief minister of Rajasthan as well as chief of the state Congress amid the political crisis.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Vice President Uma Bharti, on Tuesday (July 14), attributed Sachin Pilot’s rebellion to “humiliation” within the Congress. Sachin Pilot was sacked from deputy chief minister of Rajasthan as well as chief of the state Congress. Talking to reporters, Uma Bharti said, “Sachin is the son of Rajesh Pilot (late Congress leader), who was like a brother to me and we shared family relations. So I know that his family has self-respect. I can understand that Sachin must have faced humiliation for the last one and a half years.”
Uma Bharti also alleged that Rahul Gandhi was responsible for the “destruction” of the Congress, and held the Gandhi family responsible for the political crisis in Rajasthan. “Rahul Gandhi insults and humiliates young leaders in his party due to envy. He is unable to tolerate brilliant youngs. So these leaders are left with no option but to confront and fight. He doesn’t allow young leaders in Congress to grow,” the senior BJP leader said.
