Rajasthan Crisis: Congress Forms Committee For Sachin Pilot
The development comes after a meeting between the rebel leader and former party chief Rahul Gandhi, signalling a resolution to the crisis.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi has set up a three-member committee to address former Rajasthan Deputy CM Sachin Pilot’s concerns. Pilot will work in the “interest of the Congress” and the committee will address his and other aggrieved MLAs’ grievances, the Congress said. The development comes after a meeting between the leader and former party chief Rahul Gandhi, signalling an “amicable resolution” of nearly a month-long Rajasthan political crisis ahead of the crucial assembly session from August 14.
The meeting between the Gandhi scion and Pilot at the former party chief’s residence, where Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was also present, lasted two hours during which they had a “frank, open and conclusive” discussion. On Monday (August 10), Pilot said that interim party President Sonia Gandhi “heard all our concerns and the governance issues that we raised” and welcomed the formation of a three-member committee to look into issues raised by him.
