Rajasthan: Ashok Gehlot MLAs Likely To Shift Base To Jaisalmer
54 MLAs from Gehlot camp may be transported to Jaisalmer on chartered flights.
As the Rajasthan political crisis carries on, it has now come to light that Ashok Gehlot’s 54 MLAs are likely to be shifted to a hotel in Jaisalmer. Three chartered flights will apparently be used to shift the MLAs to the new location, where they will be housed for 15 more days before the all-important assembly session begins. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is, however, expected to stay in Jaipur for now. All his MLAs including himself have been staying in Jaipur’s Fairmont Hotel.
Meanwhile, the Sachin Pilot camp is still stationed in a hotel in Haryana. The fact that it’s a BJP-ruled state had indicated that the 19 rebel MLAs may join the said party, but Pilot has made it clear that it will not happen. His MLAs and he withdrew support to the Rajasthan Government early in July, leading to a political crisis in the state that has lasted to this day. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot remains confident that his party has the numbers to retain the government.
