Rahul Gandhi Sends 175 Smart TVs To Wayanad Tribal Students For Online Classes
This is the second time that TVs have been sent the way of less privileged students, with the first batch including 50 TVs, on Rahul Gandhi’s 50th birthday.
Congress leader and Member of Parliament (MP) of Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi has provided as many as 175 smart TVs to tribal students in his constituency. These are meant for facilitating online learning amidst the Coronavirus pandemic. This is the second time that TVs have been sent the way of less privileged students, with the first batch having included 50 TVs. This earlier batch was in fact sent to the Wayanad district administration on his 50th birthday (June 19). In Kerela, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has been running virtual classes for students under the initiative of ‘First Bell.’
Under this system, televised lessons are being beamed onto TV sets, so students can study right from the comforts of their homes. Rahul Gandhi had promised to supply electronic devices to underprivileged students after it had come to light last month that a 14-year-old Class 9 girl had allegedly committed suicide in Kerala’s Malappuram because she couldn’t attend online classes due to lack of a smart TV.
