Rahul Gandhi Questions PM Modi Over Rafale Jets
Rahul posed 3 questions to the Indian Government On Twitter.
Rahul Gandhi has once again questioned the Modi Government regarding the Rafale deal, even as five of the 36 highly advanced jets finally landed on Indian soil today. He posed three questions to the Government through his Twitter handle. The first among them went, “Why each aircraft costs Rs 1670 crores instead of Rs 526 crores?” while the second one was, “Why 36 aircrafts were bought instead of 126?” The third question asked by him was, “Why was bankrupt Anil [Ambani] given a Rs 30,000 crore contract instead of HAL?”
The Rafale deal has been under scrutiny of the Congress since last year. In fact, it was one of the party’s main campaign issues during last year’s general elections. Rahul Gandhi and Congress have alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had signed an overpriced deal to facilitate an offset contract for Anil Ambani’s inexperienced defence company, Dassault Aviation. The Supreme Court, however, has given a clean chit to the Indian Government in the deal.
