Pune Jeweller Makes Gold Mask Worth Rs 6.5 Lakhs
The lady who has commissioned the mask plans to wear it at a wedding.

Amid growing financial fears in the COVID-19 pandemic, some people are finding unique ways to part with their money. A couple in Pune has commissioned a mask made of solid gold now, which will be worn by the lady at a wedding they are attending. The jeweller who has already managed to craft it has said that it costs Rs 6.5 lakhs. The gold has been stitched atop a regular N95 mask. The shop owner, however, has refused to disclose the identity of the couple.
This is not the first instance of a gold mask being made in Pune. Shankar Kurade, a resident of Pimpri-Chinchwad, had generated quite a buzz on the Internet with his unique mask, which was worth Rs 3,00,000. He had said that it had a few small holes in it for ease of breathing. However, when he was asked about how efficient it is in preventing the spread of COVID-19, he was clueless.
