One of the most popular pro-democracy activists in Hong Kong, Jimmy Lai was also arrested by the police recently. Lai is a media tycoon who owns the Apple Daily Express and the Next magazine, both publications that are known for their anti-Beijing commentary. Both these arrests came after Hong Kong’s decision to delay elections, a move that has garnered international condemnation.
