Private Airline SpiceJet Honours Sonu Sood For His Humanitarian Work In 2020

After being dedicated a temple and writing a book, Sonu Sood was now honoured by Spicejet airlines.

Bollywood actor and Philanthropist Sonu Sood is known for his social work during the COVID-19 pandemic. The actor was recently given a tribute by SpiceJet for helping millions of workers reach their home. The airline wrapped one of its aeroplanes with a picture of the actor. Take a look at what Sonu Sood had to say about it.

SpiceJet pays a tribute to Sonu Sood

Actor Sonu Sood had helped several Indians inside and outside India to get back home after they were stranded in other states during the COVID-19 lockdown. SpiceJet airline paid a tribute and dedicated a special aircraft livery to honour him. The company unveiled the picture of Sonu wrapped around its Boeing 737 aircraft. The chairman and managing director of SpiceJet, Ajay Singh said that they were extremely proud of their association with Sonu Sood. They mentioned that Sonu and the company worked together during this pandemic. He added that the special livery was a tribute to his selfless efforts and to thank him for his exemplary work.

SpiceJet wrote, ” The phenomenally-talented @sonu_sood has been a messiah to lakhs of Indians during the pandemic, helping them reunite with their loved ones, feed their families and more.” Sonu tweeted thanking the company for the tribute. He mentioned that he remembered the time when he had come to Mumbai from Moga. He wrote that he had come to Mumbai on an unreserved ticket. He also wrote that he missed his parents.

In 2020, Sonu wrote a book titled I Am No Messiah along with Meena K. Iyer. He was called a Messiah for helping people during the lockdown. However, according to him, he is no messiah. In the book, he wrote about his journey of helping the people and the struggles they went through during the lockdown. He also helped 101 medical students to get back to Chennai. They were stranded in Moscow during the pandemic. Sonu has been dedicated a temple in Dubba Tanda village of Siddipet district in Telangana. They built a statue of the actor in the temple.
