Politician-Don Atique Ahmed’s Kin’s Illegal House Demolished By Civic Authorities
The house, owned by Imran Zai was constructed illegally without the 2000 square metres space’s map being sanctioned by the city’s civic authorities
An illegal house owned by politician-don Atique Ahmed’s relative was razed down by the police and the civic authorities in Prayagraj (Allahabad) in Uttar Pradesh yesterday. The house owned by Imran Zai had reportedly been constructed without a map sanctioned by the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA).
The three-story construction’s demolition drive began on Tuesday morning and went on till the evening. Heavy police security was arranged at the location to avoid any clashes. The 2,000 square metres complex also houses some illegal shops. The owner is reportedly absconding. Zai is also said to be a part of some crimes by the don-turned-politician.
Atique Ahmed, popularly referred to as a Bahubali (gangster) is currently lodged in jail. He was elected as a Member of Legislative Assembly from Allahabad west seat for a record five consecutive times. In 2004–2009, he was elected as a Samajwadi Party member of the 14th Lok Sabha from the Phulpur constituency in UP.
