PM Modi Unfurls History In Ayodhya, Lays Foundation Stone For Ram Temple
The Prime Minister compared this “Golden Day” with the Indian Independence day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi unfurled history in Ayodhya by laying the foundation stone of the Ram Temple. The PM also performed the bhoomi pujan of the site, before giving a speech to the country. The visit, which lasted for three hours, saw the Prime Minister starting his journey from the Hanumangarhi temple where he was gifted a silver brick to be added to the construction materials of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
In November last year, the Supreme Court gave the green light to the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust to take over the disputed land and build the Ram Temple. The site was earlier home to the Babri Masjid, which was infamously brought down by supporters of various religious groups in 1992. In its verdict, the Supreme Court also ordered the Indian government to give 5 acres of land to Sunni Waqf Board to build a mosque. The high profile dispute that has lasted for decades finally seems to have come to an end now.
