PM Modi, NDA Clear Winner According To A National Level Survey

In the poll conducted by India Today and Karvy insights, we get to see who would have possibly formed the government if the polls happened today, how popular is PM Modi, how did he fare on the pandemic and are people looking for a free vaccination against Coronavirus ?

The Mood Of The Nation survey conducted by India Today and Karvy Insights  gives a peek into various aspects of India, its politics, including which is the favourite central and state government, the pandemic situation, the sentiment around the newly launched vaccine and much more. Jumping straight to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s performance, almost one-third of the nation at 30% feel that he has done an outstanding job, while 44% believe that he is good. Only 6% termed him as a poor performer.

According to the research, if the general elections are held today, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) holds a whopping 43% vote-share with it likely to get as many as 321 seats in the Lok Sabha as against the United Progressive Alliance’s 94 seats with a 27% vote-share.  The others are projected to get 30% of the seats.

With Coronavirus taking centre-stage for most of 2020, the indigenous vaccines come as a huge sigh of relief. 92% participants said that they would want the inoculation free of cost. While 76% volunteers expressed their interest in getting vaccinated, 21% refused to take the shots.

While India remained in the top three countries globally with the highest Coronavirus cases for months together, it also reported one of the highest recovery rates in the world. So when people were asked about our country’s handling of the pandemic, 73% people said that it was good while only 9% felt it was handled badly. 50% of those who took part in this survey hailed PM Modi’s efforts around the health crisis.

This poll was was held between January 3 and January 13 this year. A total of 12,232 interviews were conducted, with 67% in rural and 33% urban areas across 19 states.
