PM Modi Compares Day Of Bhoomi Pujan To India’s Independence Day
PM Narendra Modi said that the Ram temple breaks free from the cycle of breaking and getting built again, the PM said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has referred to the day of the bhoomi pujan of the Ram Temple as a “Golden Day,” while comparing it with August 15, India’s Independence Day. The PM was at Ayodhya for the 3-hour affair that marked the start of the construction of the Ram Temple at the much-disputed site. The site was finally handed over to the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust by the Supreme Court in November last year.
In his speech after the bhoomi pujan, the Prime Minister of India said that the Ram temple finally “breaks free from the cycle of breaking and getting built again.” It is contested by Hindu organizations that the site in Ayodhya happens to be the birthplace of Lord Ram. A temple is also believed to have existed there till the sixteenth century until Mughal Emperor Babur razed it to build the Babri Masjid. In December 1992, a large mob gathered in Ayodhya and illegally brought the mosque down.
