PM Modi And Rajnath Singh Briefed About LAC Situation
High-level meet on latest LAC incident took place shortly after.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh were briefed this morning by Indian Army Chief, General Manoj Mukund Naravane over the prevailing situation at the Line of Actual Control (LAC). China has accused Indian troops of alleged provocations and threats to its troops at the LAC, but the Indian Army has refuted the claims and has said it was in fact that Chinese troops who had fired shots in order to intimidate Indian soldiers.
Following this latest LAC incident, a high-level meeting was called at the South Block by the Defence Secretary, which was attended by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat, the three service chiefs and top Defence Ministry officials. The Indian Army’s statement regarding the matter reads, “It is the People’s Liberation Army that has been blatantly violating agreements and carrying out aggressive manoeuvres, while engagement at military, diplomatic and political level is in progress.”
