Pfizer And Moderna Vaccines Are Highly Effective After Two Doses, Says Study

Vaccines produced by Pfizer and Moderna are as effective in real life as they are in controlled conditions, says a study by the US.

A US study has revealed that the Covid-19 vaccines made by Pfizer and Moderna are highly effective after two doses of the medicine. The study has been conducted to look at the real-world use of the vaccines of Covid-19.

The study has also stated that the vaccines by these two companies reduce the risk of infection by 90% two weeks after both the doses are taken. It has also proved that the effectiveness of the vaccines is equally good in real life as it is in controlled studies. The study also shows that the recipients of the vaccine started developing a protective effect even after one dose, but it is recommended that all the recipients complete their course of two doses. The risk of infection is said to decrease by 80% after two weeks.

The study was made on nearly 4000 participants from 6 states of the United States. It focused on frontline workers, healthcare workers and first responders. All the participants were provided with a nasal swab and test kits to check every week if they have been infected by the virus. US Centers for Disease Control Prevention’s director, Rochelle Walensky has said that the results of this report are a great source of hope in these tough times.

The US vaccination drive has been going on with much success. Reports state that roughly a third of the adult population of the United States had received their first dose. Under President Biden’s guidance, there seems to be hope for a better condition of the pandemic.
