Pentagon: China Territorial Aggression In South China Sea Will Destabilise The Situation And Create More Tensions
China’s decision to conduct military exercises in a disputed island in the South China Sea upsets the Pentagon.
Amidst the ongoing tensions mounting between India and China, the Coronavirus pandemic, and the Hong Kong security law issues, China has also engaged in conflicts all across the globe. China still continues its territorial aggression with its latest target being the South China Sea. According to the reports, China was seen flexing its muscles in the South China Sea region. The Pentagon expressed its concern about China’s decision to conduct military exercises in a disputed island in the South China Sea, noting that the act will “further destabilise” the situation.
The Department of Defense of the United States stated that conducting military exercises over disputed territory in the South China Sea is counterproductive to efforts at easing tensions and maintaining stability. The PRC’s action will further destabilize the situation in the South China Sea. This further adds fuel to the fire in the ongoing conflict between the US and China.
