Pakistan Bowling Coach Waqar Younis Says There Is A Lot Of Rustiness Among Players
Pakistan cricket team is currently in England preparing for an upcoming series.
Pakistan bowling coach, Waqar Younis today, said in a virtual press conference that he sees a lot of rustiness among the players who are training in England at the moment. He also likened the training sessions to a cricket training camp seeing as so many players have gathered at the same venue owing to logistical complications arising from the COVID-19 crisis. The Pakistan cricket team is all set to play 3 Tests and 3 T20Is against England starting August 5.
The former Pakistan fast bowler said, “The situation here is like a camp. It is an opportunity for us all to know each other better. The best part about it is that there are many players here, which gives us the kind of opportunity that we could not have had in Pakistan due to COVID. Since the situation is like that of a camp, we can analyse players better, work on their fitness and work on their bowling. The three to four months of staying away from playing cricket had created a lot of rustiness in them.”
