Pak PM Imran Khan’s Ruling Party PTI Splits As Jahangir Tareen Forms Breakaway Group
As Imran Khan’s former aide Jahangir Tareen splits away, the stability of Imran Khan’s PTI numbers in the assembly seems rocky.
Pakistan Prime Minister might endure some trouble with his own trusted aide splitting away from him. Jahangir Tareen, who was also known as the ATM of the Pak PM, has now split up from him and formed a separate forward bloc altogether. This forward bloc could disbalance the stability of Imran Khan’s government and put make its thin majority in the parliament substantially doubtful.

Around 3 after setting up government as the ruling party, Pakistan PM Imran Khan, is now having to hold onto the thin parliamentary majority numbers now. Imran Khan’s PTI is at 177 seats, while the opposition has 162 in the National Assembly. According to Jahangir Tareen, his forward bloc has the support of 21 members of the parliament, both from the national and Punjab assemblies. Tareen has reportedly opted for Raja Riaz to head his forward bloc. Amidst such turmoil, several PTI leaders and federal ministers showed their loyalty to current Pak PM Imran Khan through tweets on Twitter. Hashtags like #IStandWithImranKhan #BehindYouSkipper were used by many.
Jahangir Tareen had med with the members of the parliament who were in support to get a better understanding of the reality. Speaking to the media reporters, the estranged PTI leader, Tareen stated that an unsubstantiated probe was ordered by the Punjab government against the group members. He revealed that while some were being pressurised, others were getting transfer orders left and right. These events, Tareen added, was what led them to raise voices in the assembly. According to him, the Punjab government is responsible for it all, while Imran Khan had clearly stated that justice will prevail.
