It has been a lesson in professionalism for co-stars of Angelia Jolie. Providing the learning canvas for them is the sets of Marvel Studios’ upcoming film Eternals. Directed by Oscar-winner Chloe Zhao and slated for a November 5 release in India, Angelina Jolie, who is facing a storm on her personal front, could have taken some serious ‘me time’ when she was not required on the sets.

A humble, down-to-earth person

But this was not the case. Bringing this professional side of Angelina Jolie to the fore, Kumail Nanjiani, her co-star in a recent interview confessed he has learned a lot seeing the Maleficent star in action. Kumail Nanjiani makes a debut in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with Angelina Jolie and actor Salma Hayek in Eternals. The Big Sick actor Kumail Nanjiani said that the 46-year-old Angelina Jolie rather than retire to her trailer would linger around the sets and interact with the cast and crew.

This gives one the clear idea that what one does before the camera is only a part of an actor’s job and there is more to it. Equally impressed with Salma Hayek’s thoughtfulness in organising dinners and getting people over, Kumail Nanjiani says the duo will give all their co-stars a run for their money when it comes to becoming a pro. One can just learn a lot just by watching them, he admits.

Their powerful characters

The fact that the two leading Divas are always on time, know their script and their lines well and their ability to bond with others and create a sense of family within a shooting unit is what impressed Kumail all the more. For the Eternals fans, Angelina Jolie plays Thena, and Salma Hayek plays Ajak.

Thena’s ability as a warrior is to manipulate matter and energy. Ajak is the spiritual leader of the ‘Eternals’. Kumail Nanjiani essays the role of Kingo. Lauding the abilities of these superstars to carry people with them, Kumail Nanjiani says their transformation as they go in front of cameras and become movie stars is a lesson in itself. The actor in an Instagram post confessed that he becomes a student on the sets and takes notes each day.
