Tollywood and Bollywood have had a great relationship, since time. Exchanging stars, actors, technicians and even stories are not new to these movie giants. While remakes of Telugu films in Hindi and Hindi films in Telugu are being made for many decades, this seems to have become a trend in the last decade. Right from Mahesh Babu’s Pokiri becoming Salman Khan’s Wanted to Vijay Devarakonda’s Arjun Reddy becoming Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh, the remake trend has gone many notches higher.

Recently, the news that has been roaring aloud is that Nani’s superhit film this year, Jersey, which is the first pure sports drama, will be remade in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor taking the lead once again. Of course, Kabir Singh got this Bollywood charmer the first solo hit of his career along with much negative critique. But we’re waiting to see what he brings to the table with Jersey. While we’re on the topic of remakes, here are 6 films that we would like to see in Hindi.

1. iSmart Shankar

There are too many things here! iSmart Shankar is the first film to showcase chocolate boy Ram Pothineni as a grey character. This film is Puri Jagannadh‘s hit, after many that tanked at the box office. While he often uses his formula, with iSmart Shankar, the filmmaker tried his hand at science-fiction. That makes it ‘double’ awesome. When it comes to massy, we know how to do it. We believe Bollywood’s darling, Ranveer Singh would be the perfect fit for this role.

2. Geetha Govindam

After Arjun Reddy, Vijay Devarakonda’s Dear Comrade is set to be made in Bollywood. But how did they miss the romantic Geetha Govindam?  It has the kind of romance that we hadn’t seen in a long time. Something like this film will be a great opportunity for the Bollywood audience – a pick-me-up movie that one can watch anywhere and anytime. We’re voting for Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor for this film. What do you think?

3. Naa Peru Surya Naa Illu India

If we were to go by the statistics on Google, the masala patriotic film, Naa Peru Surya Naa Illu India, starring Allu Arjun ranks high – not only with the Telugu-speaking audience but also the Hindi ones. And so, we think it’s a good time to make it in Hindi, too. We’re thinking Hrithik Roshan. Sounds like a sequel to his film, Laskhya, right?

4. Spyder

Earlier in 2017, we had the first-of-its-kind thriller with Mahesh Babu’s Spyder. It is funny, quirky, has a low-key love story, a sadistic villain, patriotism, women empowerment and is lead by the most good looking actor of the industry. If language isn’t a barrier, this film could win hearts across the country. We feel like Bollywood do justice to it. While it’s touted that Mahesh Babu in Tollywood and Akshay Kumar in Bollywood follow a similar path, we feel Spyder would need someone more charming than Khiladi Kumar. What do you think?

5. Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava

Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava had just enough action to keep the action-lover hooked and the perfect way of story-telling. Jr NTR took this amazing story to another level and made us weep a little. This masala entertainer has all the elements that are needed to entertain the masses. We’re definitely rooting for this one and how about we cast Jr NTR himself? Because let’s be honest, there’s no replacement to him.

6. Devadas

Last on our list is the multi-starrer, Devadas, starring Nagarjuna, Nani, Rashmika Mandanna and Aakanksha Singh. This could be a tough one since most Bollywood multi-starrer focus more on one hero and the rest just align themselves. It would be a great challenge to put together a film that is story-heavy and will take the audience on an emotional rollercoaster ride. Maybe the cast of Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani could double up for this film too. What do you say?

Which other films do you think should be remade in Hindi? Let us know in the comments down below. And now, treat yourself to ZEE5 Original film Dhrusti starring Rahul Ravindran and Vennela Kishore.
