Nitish Kumar Slams Yogi Adityanath Over CAA Comment
After the UP CM said that the CAA and NRC will ensure all intruders are driven out the country, the Bihar CM slammed him publicly for his comment
Lashing out at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his comment on throwing out all unwanted intruders from India under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC), Bihar CM Nitish Kumar questioned his BJP ally about his choice of language. While addressing a rally in the Seemanchal area in Bihar on Wednesday, Kumar said that India belongs to everyone. He further added that no single force is so powerful as to able to take out anyone from the country.
Yogi has been canvassing in the state for Nitish Kumar, who is a part of the larger Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance. This could be an embarrassing situation for the BJP as their own ally has publicly shot down their statement.
Seemanchal is a region comprising the districts of Purnia, Katihar, Araria and Kishanganj and is largely dominated by the Muslim population. Most seats here are held by the Janata Dal (United), which makes it more important for the state’s CM to keep the minority community happy to ensure their votes to him.
The third phase of the legislative elections will take place tomorrow (November 7) for the remaining 78 seats. The results will be announced on 10 November.
