NITI Aayog Urges Doctors And Nurses To Take Covid-19 Vaccine
Dr VK Paul of NITI Aayog recently spoke to the media and requested doctors and nurses to take up the vaccine which has been made available. Have a look at the details here.
NITI Aayog health department member, Dr VK Paul recently called a press conference and urged the frontline workers to take the vaccines as soon as possible. He requested doctors, nurses, and other medical workers to come forward and take the vaccine as it is a privilege that must be used at this point. He stated that the situation is quite disappointing as citizens have not been taking the COVID vaccination in spite of having two good options in hand. Dr. Paul also joined his hands in front of the media and requested the citizens to get vaccinated so that the process can be pushed forward. Indian citizens are being provided with two vaccination options- AstraZeneca’s Covisheild and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin. Both of these vaccines have high efficacy rates and are expected to work effectively after two doses.
Here is a look at the ZEE5 video with details related to Dr. VK Paul’s request for the people:
Dr. VK Paul recently urged the doctors and nurses to take up the vaccine to keep themselves protected from the virus. He assured the people with data that the vaccine is safe and must be taken as it is also a social responsibility at this point.
Dr. VK Paul said, “The concerns about adverse effects, serious problems, as of now, seem to be unfounded, negligible, and insignificant. The data shows that we are in a situation of a lot of comfort. And we would like to reassure you, with data that you have seen, that these two vaccines are safe and do not incite undue reactogenicity and being accepted increasingly.”
Dr. VK Paul also tried to explain why the vaccine must be taken and also urged doctors and nurses to come forward. He said, “We are not fulfilling our societal responsibility, if a vaccine assigned to you, is not being taken. Please understand that the whole world has been clamouring for that. If anyone has paid attention to WHO EB’s proceedings from yesterday, there is clamouring on an international level. One of the biggest challenges is regarding vaccinating the priority groups first. And here, the vaccine has been made and very efficient vaccines have been made. We have even reached a crucial point with the two vaccines where it is already being distributed. Even in such a condition, if we aren’t taking the vaccine, particularly our doctors and nurses, then it is a sad thing. I request everyone, on behalf of the government, to take up the vaccine as we do not know where the pandemic will lead us in the future.”
