Nikita Tomar Case: Family Says She Was A Victim Of Love Jihad
The family of Nikita Tomar has alleged a ‘love jihad’ angle in her murder, claiming that she was being forced to convert to Islam for the last three years by her jilted lover
The family of student Nikita Tomar, who was shot dead by her jilted lover in broad daylight on Monday in Faridabad, has made a sensational claim that their daughter was a victim of love jihad. Her relatives revealed that she was being forced by the accused Tausif, to convert to Islam to marry him.
In the viral video that captured Nikita’s last moments, she can be seen coming out from her college after an examination when two youth try to abduct her and force her into their car. When she resisted and tried to push her perpetrators away, one of them took out his gun and shot at her. Though she was rushed to a nearby hospital soon after, Tomar succumbed to her injuries the same day.
The student’s family alleged that Tausif was troubling her for the last three years and had been forcing the victim to change her faith. The act of murder was a result of Nikita ignoring him and blocking all communication with him. An earlier complaint had been filed against him by the girl’s father in 2018. Her fresh First Investigation Report (FIR) is expected to be updated to mention the forceful conversion issue.
Both Tausif and his accomplice have been arrested and sent to police remand.
