Prime Minister KP Oli’s comments on Indian culture have once again disturbed the relationship between India and Nepal. A few weeks back, tensions were mounting between the two countries after the latter drew a new map claiming some territories in India. Nepal has opened a dispute on many fronts against India in the recent months. The most controversial and dangerous attempt was to stake claims on parts of the country. Last month, it included three strategically important areas of Uttarakhand, which included Kalapani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulekh, in its map.

The disputes created by the Nepalese government are still on and no final conclusion has been drawn yet. When the Indian media channels tried to show Nepal’s territorially aggressive practices, the Nepalese government banned the Indian news channels in the country.
