Nepal Bans All Indian News Channels In The Country Except Doordarshan
The Nepalese government took this step after their Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli was criticised by Indian media
Some latest developments have been reported from Nepal which has now decided to go the Chinese way. Just like China has banned all Indian news channels in the country, Nepal too has decided to follow suit. This step has been taken by the Nepalese government after the Indian news channels reported against their Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli and hurt the national sentiments of the people. Nepal Government spokesperson Yuba Raj Kathiwada confirmed that Nepal will seek political and legal remedies against the Indian media for disseminating news that jeopardises the nation.
Many other Nepalese government authorities have spoken out on social media platforms against Indian media channels. It is now confirmed that amid heightened tensions with India at the border, Nepal has banned all Indian news channels, except the public service broadcaster Doordarshan.
