Naxalite Commander With Bounty Of Rs 29 Lakh Nabbed In Chhattisgarh
The commander named David who was wanted in three states was finally arrested in Chhattisgarh after an encounter with police.
As part of a joint operation between the Chhattisgarh Police and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), a Naxalite commander named David has been arrested in Chhattisgarh. He was arrested after an encounter on July 1, during which fire was exchanged from both sides for about 10 minutes. The teams had acted on behalf of a tip. The Naxalite commander was carrying a collective bounty of 29 lakh rupees on his head. Madhya Pradesh had put a bounty of five lakh rupees on him, while Maharashtra had offered 16 lakhs. As for Chhattisgarh itself, a bounty of eight lakh rupees was issued in his name.
Inspector General of Police (Durg Range) of Chhattisgarh, Vivekanand Sinha, informed that several weapons and cartridges, including AK-47 and pistols, have been recovered from his hiding spot. For now, David has been admitted to the Rajnandgaon District Hospital for treatment and will be taken under custody following his full recovery.
