Navratri Special 2020: Try Out These Traditional Delicious Recipes And Enjoy The Flavours

Navratri is a nine-day festival which will be celebrated from 17 October to 25 October this year. During this festival, the devotees worship Goddess Durga and her nine avatars. Moreover, the devotees even observe fast and eat once in a day. According to them, fasting helps in involving the energy of the Goddess and also helps in purifying body and mind. There are certain rules and regulations, if you are planning on fasting during Navratri. Kuttu atta, singhara atta, fresh vegetables, milk, yoghurt, makhanas, and rock salt or sendha namak are some of the ingredients used for cooking during Navratri. Here, we have a list of tasty and healthy recipes that you can make during these nine days and keep yourself nourished.

1. Sabudana Khichdi

This dish is prepared by soaking sabudana in water overnight. Later, one can prepare this quick recipe by adding cumin seeds, salt, red chilli powder, green chillies and other needed masalas.

2. Makhane Ki Kheer

3. Makhana Tikki

4. Chawal ki Kheer

During Navratri fast, devotees consume chawal ki kheer or samak ki kheer which is quite easy to prepare and is full of fibre. The dish can be prepared using barnyard millets, milk, sugar, cardamom powder and saffron.

5. Vrat ki Kadhi

This curry is easy to digest and gets cooked in minimum time. Kadhi is a simple recipe but instead of besan, you are suppose to add amaranth flour to your dish. You can consume kadhi with rice or paratha or khichdi.

6. Rajgira Paratha

You must try making these rotis with rajgira flour as it gives lends a unique texture. Moreover, you can also add potatoes if you are making parathas, to make them soft yet crispy.
