Speaking about the time when Arjun was offered the role of Sid Jaiswal, the actor revealed that he was hesitant about going out to shoot for a film while a pandemic prevailed in the world. He added that having a young child at home was also a matter of huge concern as the virus and its exact effects were unpredictable at the time. From being used to staying home and isolated to suddenly resuming work also felt unusual to him at the beginning.
When asked about how he prepared for the role of a defense lawyer for Nail Polish, Arjun revealed that he almost declined the role when he found out that the culprit was being accused of killing 38 children in the plot. At that moment, he felt that he would not be able to transform into the role and headspace of a defense lawyer, given he had been in a completely different mindset around his own child for a long time.
Arjun also added that he met and spoke to quite a few lawyers to get a better understanding of his upcoming role. He took suggestions from his uncle, a lawyer himself, as well. Learning and decoding the mindset of other lawyers while fighting such sensitive yet major cases helped Arjun crack the character of Sid in Nail Polish. When asked about how he managed to keep his personal and professional lives and headspaces separate, Arjun said that it is a given with the job. Keeping the worries of a character and that of his real-self distinguished in part of being an actor, and he kept it so with full understanding.
