Actress Mrunal Thakur started her acting career by doing roles in daily soaps and later paved her way to the film industry. The actress is known for her roles in movies like Batla House and Super 30. Recently, in a talk show, Mrunal Thakur opened up about her career struggles and how she was body-shamed.

In a talk show, Mrunal Thakur first extended gratitude to all the people who passed mean comments to her as those comments motivated her to do better. Mrunal said that several people told her that she cannot be a part of Bollywood as she has more of a television face. She added that she used to go for film auditions and people used to say that this is not meant for her.

Further, Mrunal said that she had faced a lot of criticism like she is fit for only television and she cannot make it into films. She mentioned that she wanted to break the stereotype that a television actor can follow the transition and be a Bollywood actor too. The actor further highlighted how after her debut film she was offered the same kind of role, but she decided to move on and do versatile roles. She also talked about how she was body-shamed as she lost a lot of weight for her debut film, Love Sonia.  Mrunal Thakur also informed that she wanted to be a dentist and not an actor. But later she felt she need to do something creative.

Talking about her debut film, Mrunal said that she wanted to start with an epic and evergreen film which people study like she used to study Smita Patil’s films. She also added that she got several compliments about her drastic transition and acting skills. The actress gave details about why she studied Smita Patil’s films as she loved her acting skills and how she was perfect in every role.

Mrunal Thakur was questioned about her opinion on auditions even after being an established actor. The actress mentioned that she would be fine with auditioning for filmmakers as this is part of her job and she didn’t want to have that thought in mind that if she is an established actor, why she should audition.

Mrunal Thakur further talked about the television industry and said that she would love to go back to TV someday. The actor added that she wants to do shows like Satyameva Jayate. She said that television has a very high reach and its good to be a part of this industry.

When asked about her ideal, Mrunal Thakur said that she follows Vidya Balan a lot. She mentioned that she adores her and respects how confident Vidya is. Furthermore, Mrunal said that she is inspired by the choice of roles that she has portrayed on-screen.

Mrunal gave an insight into her future projects. The actress would be seen alongside Ishaan Khatter in Peepa. They will start shooting for it next m0nth. She also informed that she has finished shooting for two movies – Jersey and Toofan. Talking about her roles, Mrunal mentioned that the audience would see a different side of hers in every role.
