MP Govt. Gets Cabinet Portfolios After 10 Days, Scindia Camp Bags Good Share
The rebel Jyotiraditya Scindia camp has managed to get good posts in the revamped state cabinet.
Ten days after the swearing-in of 28 new ministers in the Madhya Pradesh cabinet of Shivraj Singh Chouhan, they have finally been granted their portfolios. The picture has emerged as expected as those loyal to the Jyotiraditya Scindia camp have managed to get hold of good portfolios. Among the 28 who joined the cabinet of Chouhan on July 2, 20 are of the cabinet rank, while eight are Ministers of State. The strength of the ministry now stands at 34. Four, among them, are women. Jyotiraditya Scindia’s close confidante, Tulsi Silawat, gets to keep the Water Resources Department.
As for others loyal to the former Congress leader, they have been handed the reigns of the Revenue, Transport, Health, Women and Child Development, Industries, Water Resources, Food and Civil Supplies, and Public Health Engineering departments. The more significant departments like Home, Finance, Urban Administration, Public Works Department, Forest, and Agriculture remain with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) cadre though.
